On a plane today I read this really provocative article in the New York Times about the science of the soul, which seemed to suggest that we either have to extend our notion of spiritual uniqueness to all living things or abandon it altogether.  Given my faith experience, the latter option is out, for me at least, which among othe things means that I’m seriously questioning my whole approach to mosquitoes.
